Volunteer

Update Stoke on Trent is looking for production assistants to join and expand our existing team. We rely on volunteers to produce a weekly talking newspaper and entertainment magazine for those blind and visually impaired.

The production assistant role involves helping the production coordinator to prepare and edit news stories, technically operate recording sessions, administration duties and assisting with duplication and distribution plus contributing creatively to the weekly programme


No specific experience is needed but an interest in media, IT, or Radio production is desired.
The ideal candidate will have some spare time on their, hands, work well with others or on their own and be looking to do something fun and worthwhile


-Full training will be given and travel expenses paid
– Availability: Wednesday between 9 and 3pm
– Thursday between 11 and 2pm
– Work in your own time

Update is currently produced on a Wednesday and Thursday every fortnight though this could change to weekly in the future, some roles are based at the office in Hanley but other tasks can be performed in your own time at home or else-where

We value our Volunteers in every way and work to create a fun and happy team and appreciate whatever time you can give. We have social get together’s throughout the year and travel expenses are provided.
