Who we are? And what we do
Update Talking News Stoke is a talking Newspaper for those blind and visually impaired and those who cannot access the printed word in Stoke on Trent and North Staffordshire. We offer an audio entertainment offering every 2 to 3 weeks of local news, what’s on information, health news, sport, interviews, poems, entertainment, arts and culture making strong connections with the local community.
We have been offering this service for over 20 years, starting by distributing on cassettes then moving over to USB Sticks and now we also distribute via smart phone and tablet apps and devices like Amazon Alexa and Google mini
We are a registered charity with regularly appointed trustees and are made up of hard working volunteers who without the work they do we could not continue, we are however always on the lookout for new members to join the team in all fields, – readers, admin, production, outreach, marketing and fundraising so if this is something you may be interested in or know of someone who would like to contribute contact Tim on 07500870689 or email updatetnstoke@gmail.com
